This session will provide school administrators and financial officers with a comprehensive understanding of New York State's Mandated Services Aid (MSA) and Comprehensive Attendance Policy (CAP). Participants will learn how to apply for MSA-CAP, maximize reimbursements, and ensure compliance with state mandates. The session will cover the eligibility criteria for participating in the program, including the requirement for a Comprehensive Attendance Policy (CAP), and will guide attendees through the application process via the NYSED Business Portal. Additionally, the session will offer strategies for accurately documenting expenses related to state mandates to optimize reimbursement amounts. Best practices for navigating common challenges, efficient documentation, and insights from case studies of successful applications will also be shared. By the end of the session, participants will be equipped to effectively manage the MSA-CAP process, ensuring their school benefits from reimbursements and remains compliant with state educational mandates.
