In this session, we will introduce the newly developed Teachers Guide for the Biology – Life Science curriculum, designed to help educators integrate the latest science standards and effectively teach freshman Biology. This guide will support teachers in using the Biology – Life Science text, created in collaboration with the Jewish Education Project, Torah Umesorah, and General Studies curriculum experts.
The guide provides a clear breakdown of the DOE's new science standards, with practical tips and student activities to enhance lessons, meet performance expectations, and prepare students for success on the Regents exam. The workshop will focus on two main goals: (1) demonstrating how to use the curriculum to teach Biology while connecting science with Torah, and (2) presenting strategies for helping students meet the required standards and develop critical STEM skills.
By the end of the session, teachers will have the tools and strategies to effectively support students’ learning and academic success in both Biology and the Regents exam.
