This session, Andi will draw on her vast experience as an Occupational Therapist and Certified Executive Functions Consultant at the Cooke Institute in New York City, will provide school leaders and educators with practical strategies to support students with ADHD and executive functioning challenges. Andi brings years of experience helping children and young adults develop essential skills for organization, focus, and self-regulation through both her work at the Cooke Institute and in her private practice.

Participants will learn about the impact of ADHD on learning and behavior, with a focus on evidence-based strategies for addressing executive functioning challenges such as time management, task initiation, and sustained attention. Drawing from her extensive experience, Andi will share effective classroom accommodations, modifications, and teaching strategies to promote success for students with ADHD and executive functioning difficulties.

Incorporating the social model of disability into her approach, Andi emphasizes the importance of fostering self-advocacy among students. She will guide educators in creating a supportive learning environment that reduces distractions and promotes focus while also encouraging students to develop independent skills.

The session will also cover strategies for collaboration with parents, counselors, and other support staff to ensure a holistic approach to meeting students' needs. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, share experiences, and collaborate on solutions for supporting ADHD students in their classrooms.

By the end of the session, educators will be equipped with actionable strategies for supporting students with ADHD and executive functioning challenges, helping them build the skills necessary for academic success, independence, and personal growth.
