Join us for a transformative professional development session led by Dr. Sara Markowitz, Ph.D., a clinical psychologist, ADHD consultant, and researcher. As the founding Director of the Women’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Achieve Behavioral Health, Dr. Markowitz has dedicated her career to understanding ADHD from both scientific and lived perspectives. Known for her passion and creativity, she draws on her own “ADHD superpowers” to develop practical, impactful strategies that help students thrive.
In this interactive session, Dr. Markowitz will guide you through a brain-based model of ADHD, offering insights into how students with ADHD think, learn, and behave. You will learn how to shift your perspective and develop greater attunement to the unique ways ADHD shows up in the classroom. Building on her extensive experience with evidence-based interventions and culturally responsive practices, Dr. Markowitz will share core principles that support student success, along with simple, actionable techniques you can apply immediately. The session will model a best-practice ADHD-informed classroom, demonstrating how to create emotionally supportive and structured environments that enhance engagement and executive functioning.
Throughout the session, you will have the opportunity to reflect on your own teaching style, identify the strategies that resonate most, and troubleshoot potential barriers to implementation. With a focus on practical solutions and sustainable change, Dr. Markowitz will empower you to leave with realistic, classroom-ready tools tailored to your unique context. Whether you’re a new educator or a seasoned professional, this workshop will provide valuable insights and actionable strategies to help your students with ADHD thrive.
