Student-Centered Teaching for Limudei Kodesh Educators

After learning Dr. Catlin Tucker’s approach to student-centered, equitable, and engaging learning experiences for all students during the keynote speech at the November 11 Day of Learning, a designated group of limudei kodesh teachers will join Rabbi Shmuel Feld for monthly Zoom gatherings to directly apply Dr Tucker’s methodology to the teaching of limudei kodesh in elementary and middle school. This network is geared toward teachers from grades 1-8.

Please identify in advance which of your limudei kodesh teachers will commit to participation.

About the project organizer:
Shmuel Feld

Rabbi Shmuel Feld serves as the founding director of the Jewish Education Innovation Challenge (JEIC). He was a principal and classroom educator in several Jewish Day Schools before joining JEIC in 2012.

Rabbi Feld’s vision of education was shaped by his personal Torah study and day school learning. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Chicago and a Master of Science in Education from Harvard Graduate School of Education. Additionally, he completed graduate-level coursework at the Lynch School of Education of Boston College. Rabbi Feld holds one of three ordinations granted by Rabbi Gedalia Dov Schwartz. Rabbi Feld and his JEIC colleagues led an initiative this past May to bring Dr. Catlin Tucker’s approach and methodology to Limudei Kodesh educators in Yeshivot/Day Schools around the country.
